The club held its Annual General Meeting last Monday, January 11, and announces the following newly-elected Board of Directors:

Spring 2010 Registration

Registration for our spring league 2010 is open. Click HERE to access the registration system and then click on "Member Log In."

Registration fees for U6-U8 are $80, and fees for U10 and above is $100. U6-U8 teams will play locally at the SW Sports Complex on Langley Rd., and U10+ teams will play at home and travel to Coupeville and Oak Harbor.

The Early Registration Discount of $25 runs through February 26, 2010. Please register early, which benefits all of us--you get the discount and the club can prepare for the season scheduling.

Registrations will only be accepted through the online registration process. The only method of payment available will be credit card or debit card only. Families without internet access are encouraged to use a computer at a local library, school or a relative's/friend's house. Players should be registered only under their own family's account. The club will announce two evening registration events at the SW Elementary School where club volunteers will use personal laptops to assist members with online registration, and we will assist folks with online registration at any board meeting.

We are also developing a new financial aid scholarship process and application. The club has a longstanding policy of not allowing financial situations to prevent a child from enjoying the sport of soccer, and we have been fortunate to have had the ability to provide scholarships for some families over the years. Effective with spring 2010 registration, the club will require a minimum partial payment of $25 for all scholarship applications. Scholarship applications are reviewed at the monthly club board meetings, so scholarships should be submitted well in advance of the season to ensure placement of a player on a team in time. If this partial payment is still a hardship, applicants can contact the club Treasurer for further consideration.

Any other registration and payment issues will need to be handled by the Registrar and Treasurer, and these manual registrations will require a $10 processing fee.

Simply mention to the SoccerWest clerk that you are a member of SWYSC to receive your discount; each store has a listing of authorized partner clubs. Board members and coaches receive a 25% discount from SoccerWest. Individual board members' and coaches' names must be listed in SoccerWest's computer system in order to receive this discount, and the club will provide those names to SoccerWest.
