Recreational/District Soccer

The SWYSC recreational program offers two seasons each year: fall and spring.

The fall rec season runs from early September through mid-November with registration opening the previous April.

Rec teams U11 and older may be able to participate in the more competitive District league, with the District season going through mid-December.

The spring rec season runs from mid-March through early June with registration opening the previous November.

Check out the Registration page for more info.

Select Soccer

Select soccer is more competitive and is usually a year-around commitment. Refer to the SWYSC Select Team Policy for more detailed information on the formation and operation of a select team.

Coach Development

The SWYSC encourages anyone interested in coaching a Club soccer team to increase their knowledge of soccer and improving their coaching skills. There are numerous local WYS-administered and other coaching clinics. The Club will pay for a coach who successfully attends and passes a coaching clinic and then coaches a Club team. Coaches of select/District teams must possess minimum coaching credentials. Check out the Coaches page for more info.

Referees

The SWYSC organizes its own roster of referees for games. The Referee Assignor will coordinate WYS-administered referee clinics and recruit prospective referees. The Club will pay for a student who attends and passes a referee clinic. Referees are paid by the Club for the games in which they work which makes this program an excellent way for someone to learn much more about the game of soccer while earning extra income. Check out the Referee page for more info.

Scholarships

The SYWSC is proud to be able each year to offer two $500 college scholarships to selected graduates of South Whidbey High School. A Scholarship Sub-Committee of the Club Board reviews the completed applications each spring and submits their recommendations to the Board for approval. One boy and one girl will be selected, and the names of the winning students are presented to the High School before graduation. The Club will send the scholarship checks to the college or university upon receipt of enrollment confirmation.

Contact the SWHS Counselors for more info.
